The F is for font, of course!

The first project that I created when I started my web development adventure was a simple static page with information about some workshops and two embedded Google Drive forms where people could sign up. The only thing I had to inspire myself for the design of the webpage was a poster that was already designed.
I knew the website had to be fairly simple since I had virtually no experience with design and very little experience with web development, but had to be somewhat consistent with the design of the poster.

So the first thing I did was to search for a font that was close enough to the one that was used on the poster. I had no idea how to do that and the designer wasn’t answering my emails. It was then when I found the What The Font tool on MyFonts. You can upload an image with the font in it, or you can enter an URL and it will give you the closest font it can find.

Of course this tool has its limitations, but nevertheless it can be useful.
